It seems as if Saturday has become my inner child day. The pressures of the week slip slowly past and I feel like it’s time to play.
Our weather forecast for today was supposed to be rain. Here in southern California, we don’t have much rain. When I hear people grumble about having to go out in it, I have to smile. I live in what they call the “High Desert”. Because there is so little rain, the ground here is mostly dirt, unless it’s extremely well irrigated. I watch as people scurry from one place to the next trying to walk between the raindrops. What they aren’t thinking of is, where would we be without the rain? RAIN IS LIFE! After the rain, the hillsides become alive and green with beautiful brush and wild flowers. How can you not see the life it also restores in people as well?
So today, instead of hiding from the raindrops, I’m going to take time to dance in thanks. Thanks for its life-giving moisture. Thanks for its coolness on my skin, and most of all, thanks for this tangible gift from my Creator. One more item of proof that He provides me with EVERYTHING I need.
Today, rain or shine, I invite you to soak in your many blessings and feel the unconditional LOVE being sent by your Creator…. and DANCE!
